Telemarketing for Small Businesses
Telemarketing is the process of using the telephone to promote your business using the telephone. Note, there is no mention of sales in this definition. Telesales is wholly different and often carries a negative connotation.
In telemarketing the emphasis is usually on obtaining a face to face meeting or an invitation to send more material. Face to face meetings are the best way of getting more business. If you can't get a face to face meeting then an invitation to send your marketing materials is hugely more beneficial to you that sending out bulk, unsolicited mailings.
Many small businesses consider telemarketing to be beyond their means. They consider it the province of big business and big call centers.
Never could be further from the truth. Instead, telemarketing is the ultimate cottage industry. Got good personality? Express yourself well? Got phone? Then you can earn good money as a telemarketer.
For you, as a small business owner, telemarketing can be an incredibly cost effective way to reach a new market.
