10 Common Mistakes to Avoid For Network Marketing Newbies

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

You have heard by now the staggering truth that 95% of people fail in
MLM? I strongly believe that among the 95%, there are sincere,
hardworking people who work hard to make the business work for them, but
are spending most of their time and money doing all the wrong things!

Avoiding these wrong things saves you the valuable time (some people in
MLM do the wrong things for years) so you can learn how to do the right
things with the time you saved.

1. Trying to comprehend everything

If you are new in your company and you sit down for a few days (some
employees may even need weeks before they place an initial telephone
call) testing the product, digesting all of the company literature,
analyzing every sum relating to the compensation table, committing to
memory all of the names of the executives in the company (I think we
catch the drift)

This is an extremely laborious method to get underway in your business.

Your business is like riding a bicycle

You do not get to know how to ride by reading the greatest handbook on
riding
You do not find out until the minute you begin to peddle
You learn by tumbling off
You also learn how not to fall off after falling off the first time

2. Reading each manuscript in the business

Most MLMs advise a reading catalogue and they are extremely useful for
new people, particularly if the information is accurate and enlightening
about the industry. Reading is also an exceptionally good practice to
develop. But one of the biggest errors that new people make is in
believing that the more documentation they read, the greater the amount
of money they are going to make. Those types of books are mainly
self-help books or network marketing self-improvement.

Most newbies waste excessive amounts of time reading books for a variety
of purposes.

They are weighed down by lack of knowledge. Again, they are attempting
to comprehend the whole thing before actually getting out there.

They are plagued by apprehension. The paralysis makes them withdraw to
their books without meeting people.

They are beleaguered by annoyance. They presume that after reading their
first book they will be successful and, if they do not accomplish
enough, they get discouraged and experience the desire for self-help
even more. They seek a different book. If they do not succeed again,
they will hold themselves responsible once more. Always remember; books
are one-sided. It might be successful for the author but not for another.

3. Performing the work on their own during the first month

Network marketing is not bothered if you are a CEO, industrialist,
director, housewife, university student or a vagrant. If you are new to
the business then you start from nothing.

If you think that you can bring in a six figure income in 2 to 5 years
time without following a structure then you are clutching at straws.
There are those in conventional business who do succeed in only a short
time but everyone learns from somebody and network marketing is no
exception.

Here is a case in point:

There is a guy who is a knowledgeable businessman. He began in network
marketing and wished to do it his own way. He hired a workplace,
employed a few personnel, formed a sales group and dispatched them after
paying a few hundred thousand dollars on capital only. After 3 months,
his business had zilch to show for it.

What had occurred? One of the major reasons for his lack of success was
the reality that network marketing is not designed to be run using this
approach. His employees or sales team will not be able to reproduce this
method.

There are uplines guides to lead you and they do not charge you when you
request advice. I would approach them like an ill man would visit a
medical specialist rather than an engineer.

4. Giving up your job

Network Marketing is a business like any other business. Do not con
yourself into thinking that you are going to have to burn all of your
bridges and invest everything you have got without any means of making
any money for the next 6 months.

There is an old adage that says; if the only tool I have is a hammer,
all my problems will look like nails. In network marketing, every form
of monetary strain may destroy your prospects because you will
constantly view them as money bags prior to and even once they get in.

Some veteran networkers only think about quitting their job when the
earnings in their business equal at least twice their existing revenue.

5. Selling the business or I have a business prospect for you

What you are doing at the moment will be duplicated downline. Most
people would concur that 80-90% of the populace are not qualified sales
people.

Most people who are unable to sell, sell items that do not resolve other
peoples issues, to people who do not like being sold to and who label
you as a shady salesman attempting to pick their pockets.

This means that most newbies make the error of attempting to sell the
prospect to others (who do not want to be enlisted or sold to). People
are in search of answers to their problems consequently pitching the
prospect typically appears to potential buyers as just a method of the
business builder to get their hands on their money. This frequently
leads to:

6. Entreating people to join

New distributors become so desperate to recruit people that they end up
appearing like fancy beggars in suits. They pitch and sell and pitch and
sell so much that prospects become fearful of them. Some even hound
their prospects.

Always bear in mind that the ball is in your court. They are the ones
who need the opportunity and you are assisting them to appreciate this.
Do not try to influence them. Alternatively, when you begin helping
people out of a legitimate concern, working through their issues, they
will start paying attention to you and will request the opportunities.

7. Explaining the business by telephone

The reason for a phone call is to encourage the prospect. If telephone
calls can seal all the deals, then no one will have to hold opportunity
meetings any longer or hire offices. People would just be seated at home
and call people to become millionaires.

Once your purpose is extremely obvious that you are just inviting, you
will not bewilder people by chatting about the opening, merchandise or
plan. Bear in mind, the person on the other end of the telephone will
still have an opportunity to say no to you, even after you have
explained the whole thing for an hour or so, and that is one thing you
definitely do not want.

8. Telling prospects that this is not MLM or network marketing

Most newbies are so anxious or uncomfortable when the prospects ask
these dreadful questions:

Is this MLM?
Is this one of those networking things?
Is this one of those pyramid selling things?
Are you attempting to enlist me into one of those Direct Selling things?

Most will say, Um, no its not. Yeah it is a MLM but we are not really
selling... hello? Hello??

Ever get those sinking feelings?

9. Never tell stories to your prospects. It makes you look bad and
people are not dim. Either tell them openly that it IS an MLM or
Networking business (we should be proud that we are in a multi-million
dollar industry) or turn the question around by asking, What do you mean
is it MLM what do you think about MLM? Then let him, or her, give you
their answer. Book a meeting after that.

Remember: If you are guarded about what you are doing, your prospects
will feel that they will have to do similar if they join you.

10. Deceiving my friends into an opportunity meeting

An additional gigantic error: asking your friends or prospects out for a
drink and then taking them to an opportunity meeting without telling
them that it is an opportunity meeting.

You achieve nothing by hiding things from your prospects. Be open and
proud of what you are doing! Use confidence, not deception.

Remember, avoiding the wrong things saves you the valuable time (some
people in MLM do the wrong things for years) so you can learn how to do
the right things with the time you saved.

Is this practical stuff or just theory? Must I do the wrong things
myself to prove that it is really wrong so I can feel it for real? Well,
A mother does not need to go on drugs in order to prove to her child
that they should avoid drugs now...?

Remember that in MLM, just like in real life that we must learn from the
mistakes of others. We do not have all the time in the world to make all
the mistakes ourselves!

The Traits Of A Successful Network Marketer

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

There are many factors that make up a successful MLM marketer. The one main point of all this is honesty. People in this world are looking for people to sell them goods that are honest about what they are selling and not trying to give them a snow job. This comes on the heels of being a product user as well. If you are not using the products you are selling then you are going to lose a fair amount of credibility with the buyers because then they believe that if it is not good enough for you then it is not good enough for them.

To make the best first impression possible you need to establish a relationship of trust by telling the customer how you use the product and all of the pros and cons about it that you have found yourself. Always find something slightly negative to say about the product. A person who sits there and does nothing but go on and on about how great something is sounds fake and insincere.

Another key factor to being successful in MLM marketing is being likable. As a person you need to adopt a personality that is pleasant and outgoing above all else. The relationship that you establish with your clients should be based on mutual trust and a near friendship. If you are pleasant and friendly with the people you are selling to, you will find there is a certain amount of success that comes along with that.

Communication with the people you have sold to and brought into your network is vital to success. When you sign up a new client you will need to foster the working relationship to help them grow into a proven earner for you and the network that you are building around them. Take the time to remain in contact with them on a regular basis, perhaps twice a week. The more you stay in contact the more their confidence in the network will grow. When this starts to trickle down the line you will have a network of people who are effectively selling the products for you and also making a lot of commissions at the same time.

You should also encourage the members of your network to speak with one another. Everyone wants to feel like they belong and when you have a group of people that are speaking and sharing notes you have a recipe for success. The group feeling allows the network members to interact with one another and understand that there are others out there working the very same way that they are. This will help you to work in the positive results of the network while helping everyone to learn from the mistakes and rejections that have been had along the way.

Communication is probably the single most powerful tool you have available when it comes to MLM success.

5 Great Tips For Newbie Network Marketeers

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

When I first answered the ad. in my local newspaper I just couldn't believe it.
Make money on-line. WOW. An Internet based business that would allow me to earn thousands of dollars per month and in only a few hours each week.

1 Have A Big Dream But Don't Be Blinded By Lack Of Knowledge.

Well really. Don't be naïve. I had a big plan.
I still do .I was sick of tired of my old job. I'd been doing it for 14 years. It was bringing me down. The long hours and the night shifts and weekend work were getting in the way of my social life and I was really starting to resent it.

I was looking for alternatives and this seemed to be the answer.
Work the hours I chose. When and where I want. It just sounded like a dream come true. Of course I was told it's not a get rich quick scheme and you will have to work really hard.

Well it sounded great. I knew how to work really hard so I thought I could do it. How hard could it be?

2 Motivation

What's your motivation for wanting to stop what you're doing now to get involved in network marketeering or start your own home based business? Are you a highly motivated individual? Do you need a bit of a push to get going?

I thought I had a great motivation. I was 45 years old with a small superannuation saved. I was starting to think about the future and old age for the first time in my life. I realized that even if I worked every day for the next 15years I still wouldn't have much to retire on. Also I was getting older, more jaded, less flexible and reaching a point of professional burn out. I was feeling like I just couldn't keep doing what I'd been doing for the last 15 years. Something had to change.

Network marketing held a carrot in front of my nose. I thought Wow, if I worked hard at this network marketing for 12 months I'll be rich and never have to work another day in my life. I wanted the residual income they spoke about. I wanted the flexible hours. I wanted to work from home. I wanted it all and I wanted it now.

I thought I had a strong motivation but in the end I wasn't willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my financial freedom.
So how about you?
What's your motivation?

Is your motivation SO STRONG that there is nothing you wouldn't do to achieve your own desired gains?

3 Take It Slowly

If you've never heard of the terms Cold Sell or Center of Influence and you don't know what Network Marketing is you REALLY need to take it slowly.

I've got a lot of education under my belt but believe it or not I really didn't understand these terms before I joined my first network marketing group.
Network marketing is a fantastic way to get your very own business up and running with minimal costs and to create a residual income in the future.
Some are better than others.

Don't be in a rush to make a decision about joining a particular network-marketing group.
The opportunity will be there for you tomorrow and the day after that. If it isn't or they say you must join now or the opportunity will be lost then maybe the group isn't planning to be around in the long term. That's not the kind of group you want to join. Take it slowly. If people are trying to rush you into signing the dotted line then you must stop and think again.

If you don't stop to think when you feel you're being pushed then there WILL come a time when you will have to stop and think. Best to do your thinking BEFORE you commit your money. Try to find out as much as you can about the group. Who are they? How long have they been around? Can you attend one of their training meetings before you join? What do they sell and how do they go about it?

4 Understand The Product.

I would advise you to learn as much as you can about the product you'll be promoting BEFORE you try to start to sell it. Understand the product and understand how you are going to go about selling it before committing your money.

What would you be selling if you joined this group? Some people would say it doesn't matter what you're selling so long as the compensation plan is a great one. Well,I see their viewpoint but if you're at all like me you'll want to put your heart and soul into something you believe in.

What's the point in having a fantastic goal of financial freedom if you have to sell your soul to get there?

Maybe your passion is organic cosmetics, maybe it's educational or personal development products. The range available is huge. Really have a good look at what's available and what you feel will excite you.

How will you be selling the products? Is it door-to-door sales? Do they organize a website for you? How much will it cost you to keep these websites active? How are you going to finance this? What other costs are there? Remember costs can be money but it can be other things e.g. time.

5 Think Seriously About Time.

Are you going to have enough time to dedicate to this venture? Perhaps you have 2 hours in the evening after a full day at work. Is 2 hours truly enough time to get the business up and running in the early stages? It maybe fine once everything is running like clockwork and you're 2 years down the track but how will it be to begin with.
When are these 2 hours? Are they just before bed? If they are then how do expect to use them profitably? What about the weekends? Are you ready to give up your social activities on the weekends to make up for having no time available during the week?

Many people start their network marketeering business on a part time basis and still hold onto their day jobs. When I started out I was advised to continue working my usually hours and do my new business part time around everything else. I thought this would be possible because everyone else could do it.

I'm pretty fabulous so surely I can do it too. It soon became apparent to me that I couldn't. If I were to grow my new business I would have to stop the old business.

I've heard stories of stay at home mums fitting their new network marketing business around their families very successfully. In fact having more time with their families because previously they had to go out and earn money and now they can stay at home to earn it.

I've also heard of some that just could not do it and ended up putting their children into day care just so they could do their home based business in peace!

My advice here is to really look at what you currently do. Do you have a partner who will support you financially while you're getting your new business up and running and this might take 18 months? Perhaps you just lost your job or you didn't have a job to begin with. Perhaps you're a stay at home mum or dad and you've got a bit of time to spare in the day.

If you do AND you've got yourself educated on the group you'll be joining and the product you'll be promoting and how you'll be promoting it and you didn't have to borrow money to get started then GO FOR IT!

If you're already working a 12-14 hours a day and some weekends as well as nights or alternating shifts then you really need to think carefully about how it's all going to fit in. If it's all on the Internet that's great. BUT if you have to walk the walk and talk the talk and you're a shy person or stressed out for whatever reason then you will most likely be hit with some major challenges.

I have more to say on this subject. This article is part one of a two part view.

How To Get Started In Network Marketing

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Network marketing is usually described as a business that requires a
distributor network to build the business. Such businesses are also
known popularly as Multi-level Marketing or MLM. Network marketing is
also known as a people's franchise, and is an unseen business. Today,
there are millions of people working in the network marketing industry,
and making their living.

Network marketing is rightly categorized as a non-conventional way of
doing business. You do not have any overhead, employees, no office rent
to pay, and the business can be, and generally is, worked from home.
Network marketing is about sales and distribution, but is different from
direct sales. These companies offer reasonably priced consumable
products, a low commission structure, and the advantage of residual
income, which grows with time.

Once you decide that network marketing is for you, the problem now is to
get started. Many people have joined the network marketing programs
available, without first realizing what it takes to become successful in
it.

This Is What You Must Know
Just as you would for any other business, educate yourself about network
marketing. Educate yourself about a particular sponsor to know whether
it is right for you. Learn all you can about the various sponsors so
that the knowledge gained can help you arrive at the right decision.
Check with people who are already in that particular network marketing
program to find out how they are doing. Beware of network marketing
companies that offer you money from illegal pyramids or Ponzi schemes.

If you have gone online seeking information about a particular network
marketing business as a home business and filled in an online
information form, you will be receiving a call from them. While
discussing the business opportunity with them, tell them if you feel
that this was not the right time to join the program. Most good network
marketing companies would understand your compulsions, and if they do
not, it is best you do not do business with such people.

If you think that you have identified a right network marketing sponsor,
and you will - with the right kind of homework and background checks you
would have done - do not let the opportunity go by, as most people
would. Time is of the essence and you will need time to build up your
business, one brick at a time, before you gain momentum.

Contact them and go through their sign up process, which in normal
circumstances is quick and simple. As starting a network marketing
business is the same as starting up a conventional business, you will
need to furnish certain details, such as your Social Security number if
you are a United States citizen, or your Tax ID if you are not.

Many network marketing companies claim to ensure you an income of
$10,000 or more within 3 months. Many claim to do all the work for you,
and you just have to lay back and enjoy the fruits of their work. Do not
touch them even with a barge pole.

Once you join any of the networking marketing programs, you have to get
things moving. The goal of the network marketing company you have
joined, and your goal is the same, to make money. They will provide you
with what is required to help your business go ahead.

Things will not happen on their own, and now that you are your own boss,
go ahead and start making that money come in. Remember, though. Do not
expect to become a millionaire overnight. One of the most important
aspects of this business is building up a steady residual income, and
enjoy while you are doing so.

What It Takes To Succeed As A Network Marketer

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Everyone Is Different In The Network Marketing Business, however, people in this business do share some common characteristics.

The most common personality trait shared by network marketers is an entrepreneurial perspective. Some other characteristics present in network marketers are as follows:

Go-Getters.
People in network marketing are usually go-getters. These people believe in taking action and getting things done. For example you need your own network marketing website but cannot afford to hire a professional web designer to design it. As a go-getter instead of doing nothing you will take action and train yourself how to design and create a website. Then you will plan and build your own website with yourself. Ultimately you will have a website that is according to your wishes. An important characteristic of go-getters is that they always know their limitations and strengths and they have the self-discipline to work with them.

Self-Motivated.
A network marketer is also self-motivated. But since every individual is different, what motivates one person might be different from others. For example, you might start a network marketing business because you are motivated to earn $500 to 1000 per month or even $10000 to $20000 per month. But others might go into this business because they want to stay at home and educate their kids.

To a large extent how motivated you are depends on what your goals are and the amount of dedication you possess.

Creative.
Network marketing people are often very creative. They have lots of great ideas and problem solving skills. They often get their inspiration by watching others in the field of network marketing. They believe in solving problems instead of worrying about the issues. For example, as a creative thinker if you have a small budget for advertising instead of being limited because of it, you start researching free advertising opportunities for your business. Your imagination will help you achieve great advertising for your network program. This will solve your problem and increase your income.

Self-disciplined.
Self-discipline teaches self-control. Network marketers with self-discipline do not need someone to watch over them or give them instructions. These people have the discipline to get things done on their own. They can determine what needs to be done and then they go ahead and do it.

A network marketing business may fail, and a lot of them do right at the beginning. However people with self-discipline do not see themselves as failures, they learn from their mistakes and make sure that they succeed next time.

You should be adaptable as a network marketer. Because as an entrepreneur you will be multitasking quite a lot. You will be working as a marketer, promoter, public relations person, motivator, web master etc. Your ability to adapt to different situations will help you complete these tasks successfully.

As we know it takes time to create a successful business. As a network marketing person you should be eager to go the additional mile and invest the time and effort thats required to develop a successful business enterprise.

Become A Professional Network Marketer

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Network marketing is one of the best ways to create wealth, even for the average individual. Yet, most people in network marketing never get beyond the starting gate. Why? The answer is simple - they don't take the necessary actions to build their business.

The first step is to make a commitment to become a professional network marketer. This requires building your business as a business. Building your business as a business means building from a plan.

You MUST become a professional network marketer. You cannot continue to do what has not worked for you. Realize you MUST be open minded and willing to be flexible as you build your business. This requires making changes and not doing the things that have not worked for you.

Start with a 30 Day Plan of Action

You can't build your business guessing what it really takes. Action is the key and you must know specifically the action ratios in your business. Use the first 30 days as a time to carefully track your progress.

Tracking your progress in the first 30 days is critical. People progress differently. What it takes you to recruit a new down line will be different from what it will take your down line. Tracking your progress will give you the ratios needed to properly forecast and plan your business growth.

Tracking your progress through the first 30 days will help you identify and understand the present. Plus, tracking will arm you with the much needed information to help you plan your future based on real growth numbers. Tracking allows you to ensure you are doing the right things and that you truly are taking action.

Jump Start Your Business with a 90 Day Plan of Action

Now that you have completed your "30 Day Plan of Action", you should be ready to jump start your network marketing business. Jump starting your business can be challenging. If you are a wimpy marketer or afraid to take real action (one who hopes to land the heavy hitter to build the business for them), you might as well stop and not waste any more of your time.

To truly jump start your business, you will need to take consistent action with a 90 day plan. This plan of action details step by step the necessary actions needed to flood your prospecting funnel with interested prospects and get you on a fast track toward success.

Building a network marketing business is like building a house. You must first put in a solid foundation before you put up the walls and add a roof. The 90 day plan is where you build the foundation to your business.

You use the 30 day plan to determine what it will take to lay each block of the foundation. Building on a firm foundation will allow you to build your business with precision and almost to a science.

Don't be fooled by the "get rich quick" or "build your business effortlessly" type mentality. Be willing to do what it really takes and always work from a plan. Equally important, always track your progress and adjust your plan accordingly.

Getting started with your 90 day plan of action should include a written commitment to your plan. Make a written commitment to do what you say you will do. Only what you can confidently commit to in writing can you confidently achieve.

Set Long Term Goals

We all have long term goals. Put your long term goals in writing and keep these goals in front of you. Keep in mind that having your goals in writing will not magically build your business... you must take action to build your business. However, having your goals in writing and as part of your long term plan will allow you to have a purpose for what you are doing.

Because forecasting is difficult, especially in long term planning, it is best to work consistently from a 90 day plan of action. Having long range goals based on 90 days at a time will allow you to be flexible and to make changes without spending unending hours on a large plan.

90 days is sufficient time to effectively handle. By the time you are 60 days through the plan, you should begin developing the next 90 day plan. This approach to planning and forecasting will ensure you are working in the present.

You Are Not In Business Alone

Keep in mind that your sponsor has a vested interest in your success. It is important to get in contact with your sponsor and express your intentions in building the business. Share your goals with them. Stay in contact with them for coaching and assistance. This will be critical to help you stay on track.

Sometimes, things will not go according to your plan. That is ok. We all face challenges and failures on the journey of building our business. You can always draw the line and make a new start in your business. Use the failures and challenges as a learning experience and as a stepping stone toward your success.

Not Interested In Starting Your Own Network Marketing Business?

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Consider the reasons why you would be interested in a network marketing
business? Is it because you want to follow others who have made it big
in this business and are now earning huge amounts of money?

If you work hard you can make significant amounts of money every month
once your network marketing business is on track.

A network marketing business can be started from home. Majority of
people have to go to work every day either to an office, a factory or a
store. Most of theses people do not realize the huge potential of
working from home.

However, some individuals have discovered the comfort of staying at home
and earning an income. Some tasks can be performed at home in the same
time as any other place and with the same quality of results.

Everyone is different and starting a network marketing business is a
personal decision. While some people are highly successful starting a
business from home. There are others who dont see any advantage in doing
this.

When you consider starting a home business, you should always evaluate
your strengths and weaknesses. Choose a course of action that meets your
needs. Think about the area in which you can be more successful.

Always look at your requirements and inspirations to determine if a
network marketing business is right for you. Think about your goals,
desired income, the amount of time you would like to spend working,
whether or not you will need training, what will be your start-up costs?
Questions like these must be answered before committing to network
marketing.

If you decide to start a business there are a number of resources that
can help you.

Network marketing today is a huge industry. A number of multinationals
are entering this business. And because of this you will probably become
a distributor for one of these corporations. In addition to great
products, these companies also offer training and help to get you started.

Another positive thing is that the startup cost is very low, as low as
$200. But watch out for programs that want you to buy huge inventories.

Most legitimate companies do not have such requirements. Often you will
be paid a commission on the number of deals you make. You just have to
see the sale through to the end.

These companies may also give you commission on the number of your sales
downline, this means sales by people that you recruit to the network.
More downline members mean more commission for you.

When you first start your network marketing business always target those
close to you. This means your family, friends, and coworkers. They can
be your greatest customers and they are also the ones more likely to buy
from you. However, do not pry, simply speak highly of your new business
and reveal your successes, let them make the decision.

There is a huge existing market for household use products like soaps,
cleaners etc. After you have practiced your presentation in front of
your close network look into other potential markets such as churches,
schools, and other groups.

So you think the net marketing biz is not for you, well, think again,
you might be missing a lifetime opportunity.

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

MLM or Multi Level Marketing offers loads of business opportunities for a business owner, distributor and a consumer. There have been many popular myths on MLM. Some of these myths include the potential to earn mega-dollars for little or no effort on the part of the distributor. This is far from the truth.

MLM as a multi level marketing system works well for business expansion. The chain of distributors gets the business in return for commissions. The consumers can get a better deal by buying at wholesale prices when they become distributors themselves.

The whole concept of MLM is based on the very basics of the term "business". Under the system of MLM, goods and services are distributed via various sublevels in the form of distributors and reach the end-user consumer via this chain of distributors. This system is providing extra income opportunities to thousand of distributors all around the world. Statistics reveal that in the 50 states in America and in over 100 countries world wide, the business model of MLM is successfully functional.

If you are a distributor and looking for a business opportunity using the MLM structure you may want to look into online MLM options.

To work effectively in an online MLM model, you just need to exercise a bit of caution before venturing into a program. This saves you from fraud which is prevalent in this business. Look into companies that have a proven track record. Companies that are debt free and that have been successful in using the MLM structure as their business model for a considerable period are good candidates to consider. Being part of a reputable company ensures your profits and potential loss are kept at minimal risk.

Keep in mind that this type of business is not for everyone. If you are a self-directed person who is full of enthusiasm, online MLM may be suitable for you. You will certainly be your own boss in this venture. The personal qualities needed to succeed in this business are similar to that of being an entrepreneur. The challenges of an MLM business are dynamic and a self directed person would thrive in such a business model.

travelling. You can easily do business using a laptop and an internet connection. If you are person on the go this could turn out to be a profitable venture as your potential to earn is related to the flexibility that the business model provides.

Networking - Build your personal network for business success

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Networking - Why, How and Where

It's hard to be in business today, certainly in the professional services sector, without having heard the term 'networking'. Regarded by many as the Marmite of business, it is said that you either are a networker or you aren't. And if you think you aren't, you shouldn't even try to do it.

Rubbish!

First of all, networking is essential to any business - whether offline or online. The business you get from personal recommendation will be some of the best business you ever do - they have pretty much made up their minds to use you before they even call you, and they are a lot less concerned with price. And it's not just for solicitors and accountants - when your pipes burst, how did you decide on a plumber to come out and fix it? Was it someone you had heard good things about before? Maybe you didn't know anyone, so you called a friend and asked if they knew a good plumber? Joe Bloggs Plumbers just won the business of fixing your pipes through networking.

A good way to look at it is not as 'networking' but as 'word-of-mouth marketing'. Because it is part of your marketing mix - how's your advertising? Local papers? Spot on radio? Good, good. PR? Interview on local news this week? Fantastic. How about promotions? Give aways? Offers? All sorted? Great stuff. Got a website? Optimised for the search engines? Lots of enquiries from it too? Brilliant.

And how about your word of mouth?

Not enough people concentrate on generating referrals and getting people to mention their business to others. Millions of pounds of business is done every year through referral and recommendation. If you're not getting any of it, you need to think long and hard about why not.

So you've got yourself to a networking event, you tell the people there about what you have to offer, and then ask if they want to buy it, right? Wrong! If you do this you have become the person at a networking event that everyone wants to avoid - the one handing out business cards like they're dealing a poker game; the one who asks you nothing and tells you more than you could ever want to know about what they do.

So how do you do it? The best way to network is to build trust, build relationships, to think about what you can do for the other people in the room before you think about what you might get. Be a 'people person', be genuinely interested in the people you meet at events. Great networkers want to help as well as get help - because they like helping others, not just because it might get them some business in the future.

Networking is about building a relationship that eventually leads to business being done, either between you and your new contact, between you and someone they recommend, or between them and someone you recommend. Don't discount that last one - they have to get something out of your relationship as well, otherwise it isn't a relationship. If you help them get more business, they will do the same for you - in fact they'll feel obliged to.

Where can I network?

The short answer is absolutely anywhere! Remember Joe Bloggs Plumbers, the guys who fixed your pipes? You don't find many plumbers at networking events, but they still get referrals. Networking happens when you talk to your colleagues at work, when you go to the pub with your friends, it happens when you overhear a conversation in the bus queue. Networking is about the impression you leave people with, and you make impressions all day, every day.

Of course you will make more effective contacts for referrals at specialised networking events, but remember there are several different kinds of events you can go to. Some of the most established are breakfast meetings, which usually start around 7.00am and finish around 9.00am. Meetings are usually weekly and the format is very focused and regimented. For those who like this format, there is a lot of business to be done, but it is an acquired taste. Try it out, but bear in mind whether or not you can keep up with the regular early mornings and very formal structure. Also, most breakfast meetings are restricted to one person from each business sector, so you are not as likely to meet people you can form alliances and joint ventures with, which is a very important, and often overlooked part of networking.

There are also several different kinds of event organised by groups such as local government organisations, such as race days, golf days and others. These can be a lot of fun, but are very often filled with people who are there for the golf rather than to do business, and you may have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince. Networking events are really a matter of preference and perspective, and you should go to as many events as you can at first, and then stick with the ones that work for you.

In summary, there is a simple and effective way to network that anyone can do:

1. Get to know people as people, not prospects.
2. Everything happens after a meeting, not during. Always, always follow up.
3. Give referrals as well as expect to receive them.
4. Keep in touch on a regular basis.

Best of luck with your networking!
Setting Goals To Accomplish Your Network Marketing Plan

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Do you set goals daily, weekly, monthly in your network marketing business? If you want success you have to set goals. It does not matter where you are now, how much success you have or do not have. The only thing that matters is your attitude and your willingness to do the things it takes to become successful. A person with clearly defined goals will run circles around a person who does not.

Change and its affect:

Change is the single most factor affecting our lives today. Things around us are changing at an ever increasing rate. In fact change is so continuous, persistent and relentless that we are often unaware of its affect on our lives. Goals help us to not only deal with that change, they allow us to direct it. Clear, specific goals are a must for every area of our lives.

The only way to deal with this increasing rate of change is by understanding goals and how they can direct your life. Goals enable you to control the direction of change. They allow the change that affects you to be self directed or positive rather than random or negative. Keep in mind that you can not get away from change, but you decide whether it controls you or whether you control it.

Setting goals:

Be clear in setting your goals. 80% of your success hinges on how clear your goals are. The clearer and more specific your goals the better. If you do not know what your goals are, set a goal to decide what your goals should be.

Write down your goals in clear, specific and measurable terms. Writing down goals takes them out of your imagination and crystallizes them into the physical world. It takes them from being a wish to a place where you can see them and touch them each and every day. By writing down your goals you instantly jump into the top 3% of all people. Only 3% of all adults have written goals. Yet those 3% accomplish more than the other 97% combined!

Writing down goals combined with daily action toward achieving them works virtually without exception. It unlocks your potential and subconscious mind to allow you to see and recognize opportunities. The average person will spend more time planning a trip to the grocery store or a family vacation than they will spend on planning their life.

The primary reason people do not set goals is due to a fear of failure. They are afraid that they will feel bad about themselves if they do not reach their goals. If you do not set goals you simply will not achieve very much. So do not set yourself up for guaranteed failure by not setting goals.

Set a deadline:

Setting a deadline deepens and intensifies your desire for the goal. It will increase your belief that you can accomplish your goal. On big goals, break it apart into smaller goals. For example, break a one year goal into 6 month, 3 month, 1 month and even 1 week segments. This will make it easier to accomplish your goal and will provide you with a very detailed plan of what you need to do right now to reach the next step of your goal.

A deadline acts as a forcing system on your subconscious mind which drives you toward your goal and as you begin to meet your deadlines it will build your motivation to overflowing levels. So what if you miss a deadline? Simple, set another deadline! Identify the obstacles that are standing between you and your goal. Make a list of everything that is going on around you that could be holding you back. Many times removing the number one obstacle can do more to help move you forward than any other single activity.

There is no such thing as unrealistic goals, only unrealistic deadlines. A deadline is really just a guess based on current knowledge. If your knowledge changes to a point were you need to change a deadline do so, but do not give up on the goal.

Create a plan:

A plan is critical to the success of your goals. Any plan is better than no plan at all. Clear, specific goals combined with a realistic and workable plan will create a complete and integrated system for success and achievement. List every detail you can think of. As you think of more items add them to your plan. Keep working until your plan is complete. Be sure to prioritize your plan. The most important steps should be completed first. This will undoubtedly take some time but once complete you will have created a powerful springboard for your own success.

Action is perhaps the most readily identifiable quality of highly successful people. Action is critical for the success of your plan. It is vital to do something every day that moves you closer to your goal.

Do not give up:

Make a decision right now that you will never give up on your goal. There are a lot of misconceptions and get rich quick promises in network marketing that lead to plenty of false expectations. As a result many people quit when they realize that their expectations were wrong. Only those who are determined to succeed, those who refuse to give up will win in the end. For its this same determination that will lead you to discover what it really takes to succeed in network marketing.

Your ability to become a continuous, systematic, professional goal setter will do more to contribute to your success and happiness than any other skill you could ever acquire in life. By learning to effectively set goals you will become more confident. Working toward goals will raise your self-esteem and self-respect. As you move toward accomplishing your goals they will give you a tremendous feeling of personal pride and accomplishment. The truth is that an average person with clearly defined, written goals will run circles around a genius without them.

Network Marketing Success: 8 Tips for Effective Downline Leadership

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Leading a downline is a challenging part of any MLM or network marketing business. But effective leadership is a vital part of helping your downline to produce at top levels.

Here are eight success strategies for effective MLM leadership.

1. Ask questions. Effective leadership involves empowering your downline to do things for themselves. Allow your downline to solve their own problems and answer their own questions. Guiding them to the answers is a matter of asking the right questions as an upline:
"What do you think you could do in that situation?"
"What worked out the best for you with this business-building event?"
"How would you handle that differently next time?"
When you are tempted to tell team members what to do, ask a question instead and allow them to discover the answer for themselves.

2. Find each individual's personal strength. Many times, the network marketing industry is so focused on duplication that we forget the fact that each individual brings a unique set of skills, strengths, and experiences. Invest some time identifying particular ways that a person can be successful with your business - even if they are beyond the duplicable system that you have set up.

3. Lead, don't push. Effective leadership doesn't involve pushing, dragging, or bribing people to success. Leading is about walking out in front of people, successfully working the business so that they will want to follow you on their own accord. It's about making personal relationships with people so that they can ask you questions. Provide the information and tools they need, and then inspire them by successfully demonstrating the example yourself.

4. Manage your time effectively. As a leader, you're constantly identifying the one thing that is the most valuable use of your time, right now. Effective leaders don't allow each of their team members to chat away for hours on the phone. View yourself as a businessperson, and keep each conversation on task.

5. Teach that consistency is the key to success. Help your downline to understand that success is never about one isolated event. It's a marathon - not a sprint - with continual and consistent baby steps. Create a list of simple business building tasks, and teach them to keep a log of the tasks completed each day. Whether it's 3, 5, or 10 tasks, let them know that success depends on how many of these tasks they commit to completing on a consistent basis.

6. Keep consistent communication. Send team updates or newsletters via email to your downline at least every two weeks. Recognize achievements as much as possible. Everyone loves to see his or her name in print. This, in itself, can be tremendously motivating.

7. Know when to move on. Recognize that you can't make anyone do anything. You can lead, but if one of your downline won't follow - it might be a better use of your time to find a more self-motivated person than to beat yourself up to motivate someone who, for one reason or another, isn't working at the business.

8. Take five. Creating a large and successful network marketing team is so fun and rewarding that we sometimes forget to take breaks - and that can lead to burnout. Take some time off every now and then, and enjoy the journey.

Would you be interested in a business opportunity that would teach you skills and techniques for motivating your present downline - while giving you another income at the same time? Details are here:

What Is Network Marketing?

This article was posted by noreply@blogger.com (Article Man) Author details may be found in the resource box at the end of the article

Network marketing as predicted by experts, is showing definite signs of going mainstream.
More and more people who previously rejected Network Marketing, are now getting involved, and large companies that used traditional methods of marketing in the past, are now adopting the concept.

What is it? Network Marketing, as it is called today had been around since the 1950s. Network
Marketing originally known as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is probably one of the most misunderstood concepts in America today.

In Network Marketing, companies move products through a group of independent distributors who buy wholesale, sell retail, and sponsor other people to do the same. For your efforts, you can earn overrides on multi-levels of people in your organization.

Often mistaken for pyramid schemes, which are illegal and move no products into the marketplace, Network Marketing allows average people to earn above average incomes. It is a fact that many people are earning a few hundred dollars a month, sometimes tens of thousands of dollars a month, or even earn in excess of a hundred thousand dollars or more.

Whats so attractive about this business is that there is no prejudice. Anybody over 18 can prosper and succeed. No color, race, gender, age, employment or educational background can stop you. All you have to do is be open-minded and follow the simple steps laid out by your company. You have unlimited earning potential. There is no ceiling. Personal growth, along with financial freedom are two of the things you can expect from Network Marketing.

First, ask yourself what the difference is between Network Marketing and Multi-Level Marketing. Nothing! They are one in the same. MLM has been around for forty some odd years now and started as a part time business opportunity. By the middle of the eighties many people were earning substantial amounts of money and were beginning to do the business full time. With corporate down-sizing, layoffs, and jobs no longer as secure as they once were, many people started looking at this business in a whole new light, as a rather inexpensive way to go into business for yourself. By this time the phrase

Joe Rispoli has been involved in Network Marketing for over 10 years. He believes that the secret to success is to gain knowledge and take action using that knowledge.
