The Top Techniques to Get More Traffic to Your Web Site
So you would like to know how to get more traffic to your web site? It's pretty easy really. But it does require a bit of effort in the early days.
Free Solutions To Get More Traffic
- The search engines are a major bonus to get more traffic. Build your pages to be search engine friendly (clear content, strong theme, keyword density,...) from the start
- Submit to the major search engines
- List your site on all associated business or related online directories (See which directories this site is listed in)
- Actively pursue links with similar, complementary sites
- Write and submit articles to article distribution sites - remember to include a link back to your site in the article
- Publish a regular ezine or newsletter on your site. Make sure the newsletter contains links back to your site.
- Submit your ezine in online ezine directories.
- Seek complementary sites and contact the webmaster to negotiate a joint venture promotion (could be of each other's products and services, or simply to promote each others web sites)
- Submit a story about your site to the online PR companies (e.g. www.prweb.com
- Exchange ads with another ezine producer
There are lots more options.
My personal favourite is, when I find the time, writing and distributing articles. Each article published will bring in about 50 visitors per day for a week or so. If you get your article published on a high traffic web site you will get a free traffic boost forever.
As ever there are good ways and not so good ways to go about article production and distribution. For my money, one of the best guides on the subject is from Jim Edwards - "Turn Your Words Into Traffic". I have lots of stuff from Jim - all of it is good. He seems to maintain a 'no hype zone' and I have no hesitation in recommending you check out "Turn Your Words Into Traffic" If you have zero budget to advertise your website then 'Turn Your words Into Traffic' was written for you!
Paid Solutions to Get More Traffic
